Position: Director of New Business Development
Location(s): Major U.S. Cities (specifically Washington, DC, Phoenix, AZ, San Antonio, TX, Columbus, OH, and Philadelphia, PA)
Description: The Director of New Business Development is the charismatic face of the company. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, capable salesperson and resourceful thinker. This person is responsible for launching campaigns to draw in favorable awareness from potential clients, while maintaining relationships with current and past clients. The Director of New Business Development is responsible for attending and coordinating networking opportunities on behalf of Pocket Scribe. Moreover, this person seeks to establish mutually beneficial relationships with other local businesses. This person is also responsible for engaging new clients with our prescribe program and delivering recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Great People skills and a positive attitude are a must
  • Expert communications skills (written and verbal, including public speaking)
  • Ability to negotiate and close sales deals
  • PC, Internet and E-mail advanced operational skills

Position: Freelance Copywriters/Editors
Location(s): U.S. and Canada
Description: We are always seeking to add to our stable of talented copywriters. To be considered for this position, candidates must provide samples of original paid work done for clients and at least one published piece. Once, employed, copywriters will participate on weekly calls to discuss current projects and opportunities, as well as respond promptly to calls and emails concerning availability and client inquiries. Projects may be assigned on a project-by-project basis, hourly, and contract-to-hire depending on the relevant experience, skill level and availability of the writer. Writers are responsible for notifying the home office of any changes in availability. Often times, copywriters will be paired up on projects, and will have to coordinate their work. Copywriters are expected to work well with no supervision, and have a functional home office. Copywriters wishing to promote themselves will have opportunities to write and publish original work on behalf of Pocket Scribe.

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skill
  • Prior experience working for clients
  • Samples of published work
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Home office equipment
  • PC, Internet, E-mail advanced operational skills

Position: Part-time Proofreaders
Location(s): U.S. and Canada
Description: Proofreaders are paid on a project-by-project basis to proof work done by our team of writers. This is a part-time, work-from-home position, but the work is steady. Proofreaders will have to demonstrate a grasp of the English language, spelling, word usage and grammar. Once hired, proofreaders are responsible for notifying the home office of any changes in availability. This is an ideal position for retired English teachers and graduate students.
